Quick English class lesson :) Super Counselors is the prequel to Buddy Check. A prequel is a book that an author physically writes after their first book but in which the plot of the novel actually takes place before the original. One of the most well-known examples of a prequel is Star Wars. The original trilogy is about the rebels fighting Darth Vader. The second trilogy is about how a man turned to the dark side and became the villain Darth Vader. Even though the second trilogy was made after the first, all the action happens before. Super Counselors takes place two years before Buddy Check even though it's publishing date is second. Some people have actually chosen to read them in reverse order of publication, as to not know anything that might happen, but others read them in the order they were written.

Camp Spirit’s elementary camp is filled with strange campers. Mason won’t eat what’s served for lunch but always draws a crowd when he chows down on bugs, sand, and leaves. Difficult Rachel spends most of her time complaining and insulting her brother. Alana and Imogen, the snobby beauty queens, have brought suitcases stuffed with make-up. Wade can’t stop telling tales about his amazing dad. Carin is boy crazy, Teresa’s not sure if she likes camp, and wild T-Camp’s counselor wants to put him on hyperactivity medication. Perfect campers like Abby and Sam are definitely rare in this group.
Only Super Counselors Kate, Steve, Dane, and Julie can take care of this crazy bunch of kids! Every great camp friendship has a memorable beginning, and these four new counselors face a tough week of hiking, skit planning, swimming, battling campers’ homesickness, organizing a sleep-out, and enduring their irritating co-counselor Noelle’s song leading. Their job is to help the campers have a great week and maybe even lead a few kids to Christ, but what these teenagers are about to find out is that campers aren’t the only ones who are affected by Camp Spirit and camp friendships.
